John Lindgren Resource Room

Dedicated as a memorial to local television journalist John Lindgren, the John E. Lindgren Patient and Family Resource Room provides a wealth of cancer-related educational resources for oncology patients and their families, medical staff, center staff and the community. Various members of the oncology treatment team staff the room and assist in locating information and talking with patients and their families. The room, which is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., offers the following resources:

  • Touch screen “Cancer Help Network” computer for up-to-date cancer information;
  • Dedicated Internet computers for information and direct links for extensive cancer information resources via the center’s website;
  • Videotape library for viewing at home or in the room;
  • Book library, including reference and related literature that can be checked out;
  • Pamphlets, newsletters and information about organizations and support groups available to patients and their families; and
  • A comfortable reading area containing plants and subdued surroundings to aid in relaxation.
